Issue #1 (E-magazine)
Issue #1 (E-magazine)
A$12.00

Issue #1, first released in print in 2015, is where we found our feet as a magazine. Both a work in process and a final product, issue #1 refined but restless.

Centred around our five categories; live, inform, design, create and fornicate, issue #1 is an exploration of art, design, society and sex from a modern Australian perspective.

In issue #1  you can expect to find interviews  with people from all walks of life, from Australian furniture designer Roy Schack to Finnish Prison Director Sinikka Saarela and Australian band Hiatus Kaiyote, just to name a few. Inside this issue you will find things that make you think, things that make you laugh and, most importantly, things that are the catalyst for creative and intellectual dialogue.

Issue #2 (E-magazine)
A$12.00

In issue #2, first released in print in 2016, we wanted to bring to the forefront people, ideologies and opinions that have, for too long, been brushed aside or ignored completely.

We hoped this edition of mous would not dictate the dialogue surrounding these issues, but rather start the conversation.

Whether it’s a push back against preconceived gender norms, or against whitewashing in Australian television, or against pre-established design models we hope that the ideas explored in this issue of mous highlight the opportunities of change.

In this issue of mous you can expect to find interviews with solo artist and guitarist for The Strokes Albert Hammond Jr and influential Australian porn actress Lucie Bee, alongside articles that explore the importance of an indigenous presence in Australian architecture and the current state of refugee mental health on Nauru.

Issue #3 (E-magazine)
A$12.00

In issue #3, first released in print in winter 2017, we wanted to talk about the things that tick over in our head, but that we rarely verbalise. Things we are either not supposed to talk about, told not to talk about, or things we simply don’t know how to talk about.

In this issue of mous you can expect to read about the concepts that fester just beneath the surface. You can expect to read about sex guilt, mental illness, polyamory, white privilege, death and a whole lot in between. You can expect to see the real faces of North Korea and the reality of sex work.

Featuring writing by Tilly Lawless, Caitlin Low, Hannah Collins, Yen-Rong Wong and many more.

Issue #4 (E-magazine)
A$12.00

In issue #4 of mous, first released in summer 2018, we wanted to focus on the fleeting moments that we, as individuals, all experience. Sometimes they make us lose faith in ourselves or others, and sometimes they restore it.

Weather it’s a  racial slur spat from the mouth of an acquaintance , a caption on a photo, a heated whisper, the flick of a tongue on the nape of your neck, a  piece of unwarranted career advice or a kind gesture from a sibling - these are the moments  that shape us.

So in Issue 4 we’ve honed in on conversations and stories about the moments that inform perspective, personality and  practice.

Sometimes these moments are quiet and seemingly insignificant but on reflection it becomes clear that even the smallest droplet can cause a ripple.

FEATURING CONVERSATIONS WITH:

John Safran, Erika Lust, Benjamin Law, Michelle Law , Ryan Griffen + many more.
